2.4 System Board Troubleshooting 2 Troubleshooting Procedures Procedure 2 Printer Port LED Check on Boot Mode The printer port LED displays the IRT (Initial Reliability Test) status and test status by turning lights on and off as an eight-digit binary value for boot mode. Figure 2-2 shows the printer port LED. Figure 2-2 Printer port LED To use the printer port LED, follow the steps below: 1. Plug the printer port LED into the parallel port. 2. Read the LED status from left to right as you are facing the back of the computer. 3. Convert the status from binary to hexadecimal notation. 4. If the final LED status is FFh (normal status), go to Procedure 3. 5. If the final LED status matches any of the test status values in Table 2-5, go to Procedure 4. NOTE: If an error is detected by the IRT test, the printer port LED displays an error code. For example, when the printer port LED displays B0 and halts, it indicates an error has been detected during the Flash ROM check. TECRA M2 Maintenance Manual (960-468) 2-19
