Maintenance 6. Lay the imaging unit down horizontally in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight. Cover the unit if you plan to have it out longer than a few minutes. Caution: Do not leave the imaging unit removed for more than 15 minutes, and do not place the removed imaging unit in a location where it would be exposed to direct light (such as sunlight). 6121-182 6121-186 Caution: Do not touch the PC drum or the transfer belt on the imaging unit because this might cause print quality problems. 7. For best results, stand to one side of the printer so you can easily see the glass laser window. Clean the laser lens window by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth as shown. 6121-189 Warning: The area around the fuser unit is extremely hot. Touching anything other than the indicated levers may result in burns. 8. When finished, replace the imaging unit and then close the printer top. On the printer control panel, press the Stop/Reset button. 9. After the toner cartridges have finished rotating, and the menu displays the message to open the front cover and reinstall the magenta toner cartridge. Close the front cover. unit if you plan to have it out longer than a few minutes.

Do not leave the imaging unit removed for more than 15 minutes, and do not place the
removed imaging unit in a location where it would be exposed to direct light (such as sunlight).
