Connecting the KX-M5 (cassette deck) or MDX-M5 (MD deck) 1 Connect A to A, and B to B (for connecting the KX-M5), C to C, and D to D (for connecting the MDX-M5) using the audio connecting cords. Insert the plugs into the jacks of the same color. • The audio connecting cords are the same, so you can connect A, B, C, or D using either cord. 2 Connect the unit and the KX-M5 or MDX-M5 with the system cable. 3 (MDX-M5 only) Connect the OPTICAL DIGITAL OUT jack of the unit and the DIGITAL IN jack on the MDX-M5 with the optical fiber cable. Note for digital connection • Take off the covers of the optical fiber cable plug, the OPTICAL DIGITAL OUT jack, and the DIGITAL IN jack before digital connection. • Be sure to replace the terminal's cover when the terminal on the rear panel is not being used, in order to protect from dust.
