Chapter 14 Phone 14.5 Speed Dial Speed dial provides shortcuts for dialing frequently used phone numbers. You can map a phone number to a speed-dial memory key (from left to right and top to bottom) on the V310's front panel and then use that keypad key to call the phone number (press and hold the key for one second or longer). Use this screen to add, edit, or remove speed-dial numbers for outgoing calls. You also have to create speed-dial entries if you want to make peer-to-peer calls or call SIP numbers that use letters. In peer-to-peer calls, you call another VoIP device directly without going through a SIP server. Select user defined in the Account field and enter the callee's IP address or domain name in the Domain field. The V310 sends SIP INVITE requests to the peer VoIP device when you use the speed dial entry. You do not need to configure a SIP account in order to make a peer-to-peer VoIP call. Click Configuration > Phone > Speed Dial. The following screen displays. Figure 117 Speed Dial Each field is described in the following table. Otherwise, select Disable. Enter the SIP number that you want the V310 to call when you use this speed dial key. This shows the IP address or domain name of the selected SIP account. Speed Dial

number to a speed-dial memory key (from left to right and top to bottom) on the V310’s front panel
and then use that keypad key to call the phone number (press and hold the key for one second or
longer). Use this screen to add, edit, or remove speed-dial numbers for outgoing calls.
