Sergers Mastering Your BERNINA® Two-Thread Flatlock using mtc (for 1300MDC/1150MDA models only) Fabric medium weight cotton, 6" x 8" each Needle 80/12 Universal Thread 1 cone serger thread 1 cone Heavy weight decorative thread Presser Foot standard Stitch wide 2-thread flatlock Notes Divide the fabric into 3 equal sections along the 8" side, finger press creases into place. Thread the serger for a Wide Two-Thread Flatlock stitch. Use Heavy Decorative Thread in the lower looper and coordinating allpurpose serger thread in the needle. Set the tensions according to the manual for a wide 2-thread flatlock stitch. Set the mtc lever to the minimum setting, serge on the first fold. Pull the serged fabric from the left and right sides of the flatlocked band. The stitched band will falttenm looking like a beautiful ribbon. Move the mtc lever to the maximum setting, serge on the second fold. Pull the seam flat as with the first stitch. Compare the extra width provided by adjusting the mtc lever. lever to the minimum setting, serge on the first fold.
Pull the serged fabric from the left and right sides of the flatlocked band.
The stitched band will falttenm looking like a beautiful ribbon.
Move the
mtc
lever to the maximum setting, serge on the second fold.
Pull the seam flat as with the first stitch.
Compare the extra width provided by adjusting the
mtc
lever.
Mark the sample with
mtc
