Cluster Management

Monitoring Storage Subsystem Hardware
StorageWorks Command Console (SWCC) is used to monitor the storage
subsystem hardware components of your cluster. The SWCC is a graphical
user interface that can be used as an alternative to the Command Line Interface
for monitoring and managing a MA8000/EMA12000 Storage Subsystem.
Managing Shared Storage
There are two levels of management with shared drives. The physical disks
and the drive arrays created from them are managed with
MA8000/EMA12000 utilities. The logical drives are created and managed
with Disk Management.
The PDC/O5000 manages the shared disks with the graphical StorageWorks
Command Console and with the Command Line Interface (CLI). The
multipath component of the shared storage subsystems is managed with Secure
Path Manager.
Using the Command Line Interface
The Command Line Interface (CLI) enables comprehensive, precise control
over the MA8000/EMA12000 Storage Subsystem. The CLI supports dozens of
commands to configure, modify, and diagnose problems in the storage
subsystem. For example, the CLI enables you to configure the failover setting
of the array controllers, set the RAID levels of the drives, and view the
connections between the servers and the storage subsystem.
For detailed information, see the Compaq StorageWorks documentation.
