Compaq Parallel Database Cluster Model PDC/O5000 for Oracle8i and Windows 2000 Administrator Guide
Using the Compaq StorageWorks
Command Console
The StorageWorks Command Console (SWCC) is a graphical user interface
used to create and manage storage subsystems for the PDC/O5000. While the
CLI window provides very detailed control over the storage subsystem, the
StorageWorks Command Console replicates most of the CLI window
functions in a graphic form and provides a user-friendly method of executing
CLI commands.
See t
he
StorageWorks documentation for details about using the SWCC.
Using Secure Path Manager
The primary use of the CLI and the SWCC is to manage shared disks and
array controllers. Secure Path Manager is used to manage the redundant paths
of the shared storage system.
Secure Path Manager is a component of the Compaq StorageWorks Secure
Path software that is included in the PDC/O5000 cluster kit. Secure Path
Manager is the client application used to manage multipath
MA8000/EMA12000 Storage Subsystem configurations. It displays a
graphical representation of the current multipath environment and indicates the
location and state of all configured storagesets on each of the paths. To
facilitate static load balancing, Secure Path Manager provides the capability to
move storagesets between I/O paths.
For detailed information, see the Secure Path documentation provided with the
Secure Path CD.
Using Disk Management
The Disk Management utility is first run after the drive arrays have been
configured by the MA8000/EMA12000 utilities. Disk Management is used to
partition the drive arrays, create logical drives, assign drive letters, and format
the logical drives. For additional information about Disk Management, refer to
your Windows 2000 documentation.
