1.3 System Overview Figure 1-1 shows a typical Storage Area Network (SAN) configuration in which xStack Storage Array can be used. The Storage Area Network portion of this diagram is a private high-speed Ethernet network that is dedicated to the exchange of data between the network servers and the xStack Storage Array. The high bandwidth used by the servers exchanging data with the xStack Storage Array can easily consume high bandwidth on the LAN (Local Area Network) where users PCs are attached. Creating a separate network to isolate this traffic avoids bogging down the customer's existing LAN and helps improve security. System Overview
Figure 1-1 shows a typical Storage Area Network (SAN) configuration in which xStack Storage
