RPMs, line cards, and SFMs are hot-swappable. To remove RPMs and line cards: Step Task 1 Determine if the system is operating with line card and RPM redundancy. If the system is operating with only one RPM or line card, removing either halts traffic processing. 2 Unplug the network interface cables connected to the line card or RPM. 3 Loosen the captive screws and pull the ejector lever(s) towards you to disengage the backplane connections.
