Replacing a fan 7 Insert the new fan into the opening left by the old fan, then engage the fan retention tabs and fan release tab with the chassis until it snaps into place. 8 Plug the fan cable into the fan connector on the system board. 9 Replace the processor air duct by following the instructions in "Installing the processor air duct" on page 34. 10 Follow the instructions in "Closing the server case" on page 37. To replace a back fan: 1 Follow the instructions in "Preventing static electricity discharge" on page 29. 2 Follow the instructions in "Opening the server case" on page 30. 3 Unplug the fan cable from the fan connector on the system board.
