One new feature listed here is adaptive compression (method 5) for the Raster Compression Mode command. In addition to compressing data for transmission, if certain rules are followed (discussed below), the HP LaserJet IIIP printer will store adaptive compressed data in compressed format and only decompress it when required for printing.
