Version 6.4.0c NOTE: This software conforms to the Fibre Channel (FC) standards and accepted engineering practices and procedures. Description Fabric OS 6.4.0 introduced support for the following new hardware. This support is carried forward with 6.4.0c: • HP StorageWorks DC SAN Director 64-Port 8Gb Fibre Channel Blade, a new high-density, 64 port, 8 Gb fibre channel blade for DC SAN and DC04 SAN directors. Supports E, EX, F, FL and MPort types, and auto sensing 2/4/8 Gb/s port speed. This blade uses a new form factor SFP (mSFP/mini-SFP). This new mSFP is not compatible with any other B-series products and is required for the 64 port blade. In addition to support for the new 64 port Fibre Channel blade, there were several new features introduced in Fabric OS 6.4.0 that are carried forward with 6.4.0c (summarized here, then explained in more detail in the section titled "New features" on page 5). • FCIP enhancements • IPsec support on DC SAN Director Switch Multiprotocol Extension blade • IPV6 support on 1606 Extension SAN Switch and Multiprotocol Extension blade FCIP ports • VEX support on Multiprotocol Extension blade • DSCP Marking support on 1606 Extension SAN Switch and Multiprotocol Extension blade • Support for up to 4 Multiprotocol Extension blades in DC SAN and DC04 SAN Directors • Troubleshooting enhancements (tperf diagnostic CLI) • Access Gateway enhancements • Ability to map individual NPIV WWN to N-port (also known as Device-based mapping) • Ability to balance WWN logins from a single NPIV-port across multiple N-ports of an Access Gateway • Ability to configure NPIV login limit for individual ports (this feature is supported both on Access Gateway and Switch ports) • Encryption platform enhancements • Concurrent Disk and Tape Encryption support on the same Encryption Engine • Disk device decommissioning support • Redundant Key ID metadata option in data replication environments • FCoE/CEE enhancements • Support for IGMP snooping functionality on HP StorageWorks 2408 FCoE Converged Network Switch and DC SAN Director Switch 10/24 FCoE Blade HP StorageWorks Fabric OS 6.4.0c Release Notes 3

Description
Fabric OS 6.4.0 introduced support for the following new hardware. This support is carried forward
with 6.4.0c:

HP StorageWorks DC SAN Director 64-Port 8Gb Fibre Channel Blade
, a new high-density, 64 port,
8 Gb fibre channel blade for DC SAN and DC04 SAN directors. Supports E, EX, F, FL and M-
