Closed defect summary Solution If the ITL nexus in tape (target containers with initiator) to handle multiplex/ multistream environment is greater than 200, decreased performance is seen for some containers. Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0 Workaround prior to upgrade: Reduce the number of IT configuration (target containers with initiators) to 200. No message is displayed when performing slotpoweroff/on on a DC SAN Backbone director. Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0 Workaround prior to upgrade: These messages are logged into raslog. check raslog for confirmation. supportsave did not remove ffdc files. Continued to get ffdc files warning. Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0 FFDC file warning message persisted until a second support save was taken. Peak data rate is reported as 4096 MB/sec for 2 Gb/s port, which is Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0 not possible. In multiprotocol extension blade face plate image in WebTools Switch Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0 View, 10GE ports should be renamed as XGE ports. ifName value returned for xGBE port in WebTools does not match CLI Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0 output. Copper 1-GbE SFP can get into an illegal state on Extension SAN Switch Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0 where no LED light is shown, but port is online and working. GbE ports on HP StorageWorks Extension SAN Switch or Multiprotocol Extension Blade will continually showail No_Sync status if non-B-series SFP was inserted and then replaced with B-series SFP. Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0 Workaround prior to upgrade: Use portdisable and portenable after inserting supported SFP. When a host in a backbone fabric with a pair of Multiprotocol Extension blades, 1606 extension SAN switches, or a combination of the two is rebooted, it is unable to discover targets in the edge fabric due to timing window where a SID zone miss could drop a frame. If initiator does not retry PLOGI, it will fail to discover targets in the edge fabric. Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0 Workaround prior to upgrade: Workaround (recovery) is to disable/enable the target. NPIV tape devices may not be seen by hosts due to name server not sending subsequent PLOGI ACC following a sequence where NPIV device sends LOGO before link down. Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0 After upgrade to Fabric OS 6.x, rsh using user credential gets ifmodeshow eth0: ioctl (ETHTOOL_GSET) failed error in response to ifmodeshow command. Telnet and rsh with root credential work fine. Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0 Workaround prior to upgrade: Set suid permissions for ethmode: chmod +s /fabos/libexec/ethmode. HP StorageWorks Encryption SAN Switch or encryption blade drops frames received from the host when the back-end tape becomes unresponsive. Solution
Closed defect summary
Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0
Workaround prior to upgrade:
Reduce the number of IT
configuration (target containers with
initiators) to 200.
If the ITL nexus in tape (target containers with initiator) to handle multi-
plex/ multistream environment is greater than 200, decreased perform-
ance is seen for some containers.
Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0
Workaround prior to upgrade:
These messages are logged into
raslog. check raslog for
confirmation.
No message is displayed when performing slotpoweroff/on on a DC
SAN Backbone director.
Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0
supportsave did not remove ffdc files. Continued to get ffdc files warning.
FFDC file warning message persisted until a second support save was
taken.
Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0
Peak data rate is reported as 4096 MB/sec for 2 Gb/s port, which is
not possible.
Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0
In multiprotocol extension blade face plate image in WebTools Switch
View, 10GE ports should be renamed as XGE ports.
Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0
ifName value returned for xGBE port in WebTools does not match CLI
output.
Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0
Copper 1-GbE SFP can get into an illegal state on Extension SAN Switch
where no LED light is shown, but port is online and working.
Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0
Workaround prior to upgrade:
Use portdisable and portenable after
inserting supported SFP.
GbE ports on HP StorageWorks Extension SAN Switch or Multiprotocol
Extension Blade will continually showail No_Sync status if non-B-series
SFP was inserted and then replaced with B-series SFP.
Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0
Workaround prior to upgrade:
Workaround (recovery) is to
disable/enable the target.
When a host in a backbone fabric with a pair of Multiprotocol Extension
blades, 1606 extension SAN switches, or a combination of the two is
rebooted, it is unable to discover targets in the edge fabric due to timing
window where a SID zone miss could drop a frame. If initiator does
not retry PLOGI, it will fail to discover targets in the edge fabric.
Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0
NPIV tape devices may not be seen by hosts due to name server not
sending subsequent PLOGI ACC following a sequence where NPIV
device sends LOGO before link down.
Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0
Workaround prior to upgrade:
Set suid permissions for ethmode:
chmod +s /fabos/libexec/ethmode.
After upgrade to Fabric OS 6.x, rsh using user credential gets ifmod-
eshow eth0: ioctl (ETHTOOL_GSET) failed error in response to ifmod-
eshow command. Telnet and rsh with root credential work fine.
Fixed in Fabric OS 6.4.0
HP StorageWorks Encryption SAN Switch or encryption blade drops
frames received from the host when the back-end tape becomes unre-
sponsive.
