Chapter 4 C Commands copy Send documentation comments to [email protected] copy To save a backup of the system software, use the copy command in EXEC mode. copy source-URL destination-URL Syntax Description source-URL destination-URL The location URL or alias of the source file or directory to be copied. The destination URL or alias of the copied file or directory. The following table lists the aliases for source and destination URLs. running-config startup-config bootflash: log: slot0: volatile: system: fabric tftp: ftp: scp: sftp: log: debug: nvram: core: filename sup-1 sup-2 Specifies the configuration currently running on the switch. The system:running-config keyword represents the current running configuration file. Specifies the configuration used during initialization (startup). You can copy the startup configuration from NVRAM. The nvram:startup-config keyword represents the configuration file used during initialization. Specifies the location for internal bootflash memory. Specifies the location for the log file system. Specifies the location for the CompactFlash memory or PCMCIA card. Specifies the location for the volatile file system. Specifies the location for system memory, which includes the running configuration. Specifies a fabric wide startup configuration update using Cisco Fabric Services (CFS) where all the remote switches in the fabric copy their running configuration (source) file into their startup configuration (destination) file. The syntax for this command is copy running-config startup-config fabric. Specifies the location for a Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) network server.
