3 Unlock the Scanner 1 Hold the top of the copier and firmly press the blue lid-release button on the right side and allow the top of the machine to gently rise. If you have trouble opening the copier, use your thumb and press the blue button hard. 2 The scanner lock is on the left side of the lid near the hinge.To unlock the scanner, slide the scanner lock toward the front of the copier. NOTE Leave the scanner unlocked unless you need to move your HP Color Copier 210. Locking the scanner protects it during moving.
