LDAP-sign-in server Information needed before starting Ensure that you have the following information before starting the configuration: ● Server address (hostname or IP) ● Server authentication requirements ● Path to start search (BaseDN, Search Root) (for example, o=mycompany.com) ● Attributes for matching the name entered (such as cn or samAccountName), retrieving the email address (such as mail), and how the name will be displayed on the control panel (such as displayName) Setup In the Embedded Web Server, click Settings > LDAP sign-in server. 1. Enable the LDAP server (mandatory to continue with the LDAP configuration). 2. In the network directory server section, enter the name of the LDAP server address (for example, ldap.mycompany.com) and Port. ● If you do not know the LDAP server, contact the server administrator. ● If you want to enable a secure (SSL) connection, enable the toggle Use a secure connection (SSL). 3. In the server authentication requirements section, you can select the appropriate authentication type in the server (use printer user's credentials, use LDAP administrator's credentials). You must fill in the domain name, username, and password. 4. In the LDAP database search setttings section, fill in these fields: ● In the Bind and search root enter the path to start searching the database (for example, o=mycompany.com). ● In the Retrieve the printer user's name using this attribute box, enter the name of the attribute that contains the person's name (for example, displayName). ● In the Match the name entered with this attribute box, enter the name of the attribute whose content should be matched with the username type during sign-in. ● In the Retrieve the user's email address using this attribute box, enter the name of the attribute that contains the person's email address (for example, mail or rfc822Mailbox). ● In the Retrieve the printer user group using this attribute box, enter the name of the attribute that contains the groups to which the person belongs. 5. Click the Apply button to save the settings. Setup is complete. 6. To check that the LDAP retrieval is set up correctly, enter at least three characters of a network contact name in the Test box, and then click the Test button. If the test is successful, a message is displayed. Information needed before starting
Ensure that you have the following information before starting the configuration:
