Advanced Connections (Optional) Using Composite Video or S-Video (Set-Top Box Connections Only) Ä CAUTION: If you have already completed the steps in Chapter 3, "Media Center Setup," you must disconnect the RF coaxial cable from the TV1 jack (and TV2 jack, if applicable) before connecting a composite audio/video cable or S-Video cable. The composite audio/video cable or S-Video cable replaces the function of the RF coaxial cable, and leaving a RF coaxial cable connected may cause video transmission problems. If you are using a cable or satellite set-top box in your setup, you have the option of improving video quality by connecting a composite video or S-Video cable, rather than an RF coaxial cable, from your set-top box to the TV tuner. The following table compares the video types and associated video quality supported by Media Center.
