Troubleshooting Problem When I select Radio while watching or recording a TV program, I am asked if I want to stop. I hear no sound, or the volume is too low in Media Center. The sound of a radio broadcast cuts off when my screensaver is activated. Solution To use the FM tuner, the TV tuner must be deactivated, even if you are recording (and not watching) a program. The Windows Media Player and Windows XP Media Center share certain audio device control settings. If volume settings in Media Center do not meet your expectations, check the following: ■ Open Windows Media Player application and verify that the volume settings are not muted or turned down too low. ■ Verify that the Windows system volume control settings are not muted or turned down too low: ❐ Double-click the volume control icon in the Windows notification area (at the right of the taskbar). - or - ❐ Select Start > Control Panel > Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices > Sounds and Audio Devices. The FM tuner will not function when certain Microsoft screensavers are activated. If you are using one of the following screensavers, disable it to correct the problem. ■ 3D FlowerBox ■ 3D Flying objects ■ 3D Pipes ■ 3D Text ■ Aquarium ■ Da Vinci ■ Nature ■ Space Hardware Setup A-7
