Troubleshooting Problem When I select Radio while watching or recording a TV program, I am asked if I want to stop. I hear no sound, or the volume is too low in Media Center. The sound of a radio broadcast cuts off when my screensaver is activated. Solution To use the FM tuner, the TV tuner must be deactivated, even if you are recording (and not watching) a program. The Windows Media Player and Windows XP Media Center share certain audio device control settings. If volume settings in Media Center do not meet your expectations, check the following: ■ Open Windows Media Player application and verify that the volume settings are not muted or turned down too low. ■ Verify that the Windows system volume control settings are not muted or turned down too low: ❐ Double-click the volume control icon in the Windows notification area (at the right of the taskbar). - or - ❐ Select Start > Control Panel > Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices > Sounds and Audio Devices. The FM tuner will not function when certain Microsoft screensavers are activated.
