Compatibility Compatibility The SAN Switch 2/32 is compatible with the following switches in the fabric: IMPORTANT: Earlier versions of SAN Core Switch 2/64 firmware (that is, Version 4.0.0x) cannot be loaded onto a SAN Switch 2/32. • hp StorageWorks SAN Core Switch 2/64 running Fabric OS Version 4.0.2b or later • hp StorageWorks SAN Switch 2/8EL, hp StorageWorks SAN Switch 2/16 EL, or hp StorageWorks SAN Switch 2/16 switches running Fabric OS Version 3.0.2c or later • premerger hp or premerger Compaq switches running Fabric OS Version 2.6.0c or later NOTE: For the Fabric OS Version 2.x switches or Fabric OS Version 3.x switches, the Core Switch PID Format must be enabled (that is, set to 1) using the configure command before it can interconnect with the SAN Switch 2/32. For more information regarding the Core Switch PID Format, please refer to Appendix B in the hp StorageWorks SAN Switch 2/32 Installation Guide, "Updating the Core PID Format." A hardcopy version of the installation guide is supplied with your switch. QuickLoop QuickLoop, in either its original hub emulation mode, or in Fabric Assist mode, is not supported on the SAN Switch 2/32. This means that direct attachment of private hosts to the SAN Switch 2/32 is not supported. However, fabric or loop targets attached to the SAN Switch 2/32 may be included in Fabric Assist Zones for private hosts attached to other switches in the fabric.
