Table 67 M-series fabric rules Rule nl number Description 1 A maximum of 24 switches, 1,632 total ports, and 1,500 user ports (firmware 09.xx.xx/08.xx.xx) are supported in a single fabric (see Table 69). 1 Gb/s, 2 Gb/s, and 4 Gb/s switches are supported in the fabric if you do not exceed the following limits: • Maximum of 8 Director 2/64 or Director 2/140 switches • For a fabric that contains the McDATA 4 Gb SAN Switch for HP p-Class BladeSystem, a maximum of 24 switches and 400 user ports (firmware 5.2.2.15.00) and 600 user ports (firmware 6.4.x.xx.xx) Eight fully populated Director 2/140 switches is 1,120 ports and does not exceed the 1,500 user-port maximum. Zoning restricts the configuration to 2,048 unique zone members (user ports). 162 M-series switches and fabric rules
