Rule nl number 6 7 8 9 10 11 Description Local devices on an H-series switch can be mapped to different remote fabrics. For mappings between an H-series switch and a remote fabric, each local device or remote device can be mapped over one TR_Port. Additional mappings to either device must use that TR_Port. Local devices connected to different local switches can be mapped to the same remote device over one TR_Port on each local switch. A local device cannot be mapped over an E_Port to a local switch, then over a TR_Port to the remote device. The local switch to which the local device is connected must connect directly to the remote fabric over a TR_Port. In order for local devices to discover remote devices, the corresponding IFZs must be activated on both the local and remote fabrics. To remove a mapping, you must remove the local IFZ and the corresponding remote IFZ. When a local device is mapped over a TR_Port to a remote device, the local device and its TR_Port appear as an NPIV-connected device in the remote fabric. It is possible, though not nl recommended, to map the local device over a second TR_Port to a local device in a second local fabric. In this case, if you merge the two local fabrics, the transparent route becomes nl inactive for the devices that now have a path over an ISL, and an alarm is generated. IMPORTANT: SSCM version 3.00 or later is required for the HP SN6000 Fibre Channel Switch. SSCM version 2.10 and later can manage the 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch, and version 3.00 or later can manage the SN6000 Fibre Channel Switch, with active transparent router ports (TR_Ports). However, SSCM cannot manage or discover remote switches or devices in the remote fabric. The Physical Connection map displays the remote fabric as a disabled switch, indicating that SSCM cannot manage the switch. SSCM version 2.00 and earlier does not support the management of fabrics that include switches with active TR_Ports, and may disrupt communication between the 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch or SN6000 Fibre Channel Switch and the remote fabric. Zoning limits and enforcement Table 16 lists zoning limits for H-series switches. (See also "Zoning" on page 421.) Table 16 H-series switch zoning limits Rule nl number Description 1 Maximum number of zone sets is 256. 2 Maximum number of zones is 2,000. 3 Maximum number of zones in a zone set is 2,000. 4 Maximum number of zone members in a zone is 2,000. 90 H-series switches and fabric rules
