HP-UX SAN rules This section describes the SAN rules for HP-UX. For current storage system support, see the SPOCK website at http://www.hp.com/storage/spock. You must sign up for an HP Passport to enable access. Table 96 describes the SAN configuration rules for HP-UX. Table 97 describes support for HP-UX multipathing coexistence. Table 96 HP-UX SAN configuration rules Storage systems1 All supported HP-UX SAN rules • Supports HP Serviceguard Clusters. • Zoning is required when HP-UX is used in a heterogeneous SAN with other operating systems. • Supports boot from SAN. For more information, see "EVA SAN boot support" on page 256 and "XP and VA SAN boot support" on page 268. • Supports connection to a common server for mixed storage system types. See "Common SAN coex- istence" on page 232. • Supports multipathing high-availability configuration in multiple fabrics or in a single fabric with zoned paths. See "Data availability" on page 53. P2000 G3 FC MSA2000fc G2 (MSA2300fc) • Host name profile must be set to HP-UX • Support for HP-UX 11i v2 (June 2008 or later) using PvLinks (for MSA2000fc G2 products only) • Support for HP-UX 11i v3 using native multipathing EVA4000 EVA4100 EVA4400 EVA6000 EVA6100 EVA6400 EVA8000 EVA8100 EVA8400 • Active/active failover mode is supported for HP-UX 11i v1 and 11i v2 using the Secure Path, PvLinks, or Veritas DMP driver. HP-UX 11i v3 is supported with native multipathing. • For HP Continuous Access EVA configuration information, see "HP Continuous Access EVA SAN integration" on page 254. EVA3000 EVA5000 VCS 4x • Supports connection of single HBA servers to EVA storage systems. • Active/active failover mode and active/passive failover mode are supported for HP-UX 11.0, 11i v1, and 11i v2 using the Secure Path, PvLinks, or Veritas DMP driver. HP-UX 11i v3 is supported with native multipathing. • For HP Continuous Access EVA configuration information, see "HP Continuous Access EVA SAN integration" on page 254. 1Unlisted but supported storage systems have no additional SAN configuration restrictions.
