HP Tru64 UNIX SAN rules This section describes the SAN rules for HP Tru64 UNIX. For current storage system support, see the SPOCK website at http://www.hp.com/storage/spock. You must sign up for an HP Passport to enable access. Table 100 describes the SAN configuration rules for HP Tru64 UNIX. Table 101 describes support for HP Tru64 UNIX multipathing coexistence. Table 100 Tru64 UNIX SAN configuration rules Storage systems1 All supported Tru64 UNIX SAN rules • Zoning is required when Tru64 UNIX is used in a heterogeneous SAN with other operating systems. • Supports TruCluster Server. • Supports boot from SAN. For more information, see "EVA SAN boot support" on page 256 and "XP and VA SAN boot support" on page 268. • Supports multipathing high-availability configuration in multiple fabrics or in a single fabric with zoned paths. EVA3000 EVA4000 EVA4100 EVA5000 EVA6000 EVA6100 EVA8000 EVA8100 • Zoning is required when a SAN is configured for multiple TruCluster products. Each TruCluster must be in its own zone. • Supports connection of single HBA servers. • Supports active/active or active/passive failover mode. • A multipathing driver is embedded in the operating system. • For HP Continuous Access EVA configuration information, see "HP Continuous Access EVA SAN integration" on page 254. MSA1000 • Requires a dedicated MSA1000. • Supports clusters with a maximum of 4 nodes. • Contact an HP storage representative for required operating system patches. 1Unlisted but supported storage systems have no additional SAN configuration restrictions. For the latest support information, contact an HP storage representative. SAN Design Reference Guide 217
