MENU SCREEN - Contents of the menus - (continued) SYSTEM Menu (continued) Items INDEX WRITE Setting OFF ⅷ ON Contents Use this setting to enable/disable index signal recording. OFF : No recording of index signal. ON : Use this setting to record index signals. An index signal is automatically registered at the position where recording starts. REPEAT MODE ⅷ OFF INDEX VIDEO OUT TAPE END Use this setting to enable/disable repeat playback. OFF : No repeat playback INDEX : Repeat playback between the positions where in- dex signals are recorded. VIDEO END : Repeat playback from the beginning of the tape to the position where recording of video signals ends. TAPE END : Repeat playback from the beginning to the end of the tape. NEXT PAGE Display the SYSTEM (2/2) menu. PAGE BACK Return to the TOP MENU. Ⅵ SYSTEM (2/2) menu Items Setting DC IN MODE ⅷ OPE OFF OPE ON PLAY Contents Select the action to perform when power is supplied via the DC IN terminal. OPE OFF : Sets the unit to OPERATE OFF OPE ON : Sets the unit to OPERATE ON. PLAY : If a tape has been inserted, the VTR will go into the PLAY mode. (AUTO PLAY) OPERATION LOCK ⅷ OFF ON Turn ON/OFF the OPERATION LOCK. OFF : Turns off the OPERATION LOCK and enables the buttons on the main unit. ON : VTR goes into the OPERATE LOCK mode.The buttons and the slide switch on the main unit are inhibited. However, OPERATE ON and menu operations are still possible. Memo Even when this setting is OFF, disabling the buttons on the main unit while it is controlled via a remote controller connected to the 9 PIN REMOTE or SERIAL REMOTE terminal is possible, by setting the LOCAL FUNCTION item of the REMOTE menu. (1/2 and 2/2 menu) Ⅵ REMOTE (1/2) menu Items Setting Contents REMOTE OFF ⅷ ON Use this menu item to enable/disable the REMOTE SEL. switch on the front panel. OFF : Disables the 9 PIN/SERIAL setting of the REMOTE SEL. switch. ON : Enables the 9 PIN/SERIAL setting of the REMOTE SEL. switch. Use this setting when remote controlling the unit via the 9 PIN and SERIAL terminal. LOCAL FUNCTION NO KEY EJECT STP + EJT ⅷ ALL KEYS Use this to select the buttons on the main unit to be rendered operable when remote controlling the unit via the 9 PIN REMOTE terminal or the SERIAL REMOTE terminal. NO KEY : No button enabled. EJECT : Only the EJECT button enabled. STP + EJT : Only the STOP button and the EJECT button are ena- bled. ALL KEYS : All operation buttons are enabled. Memo If the OPERATION LOCK item of the SYSTEM (2/2) menu is set as ON, the buttons on the main unit will be disabled regardless of the setting here. PREROLL 3SEC 5SEC ⅷ 7SEC 10SE When remote controlling the unit via the 9 PIN REMOTE terminal, use this item to set the PREROLL time of the unit. Configurations done via the editing remote controller prevail over other settings. 3SEC : 3 seconds 5SEC : 5 seconds 7SEC : 7 seconds 10SEC : 10 seconds Memo To enhance editing precision, please set it to at least 7 seconds. REM FF/REW MODE ⅷ FF/REW SEARCH Use this menu item to set the action to be performed when an FF/ REW command is received via the 9 PIN REMOTE terminal or DV terminal. FF/REW : Sets the unit to execute FF/REW when a command is received. This is the usual setting. SEARCH : Sets the unit to go into the SEARCH state when a command is received. Use this setting if the locate(cue up) function does not work well. 59
