Oven Baking For best results, heat the oven before baking cookies, breads, cakes, pies or pastries, etc. There is no need to preheat the oven for roasting meat or baking casseroles. Oven too hot. • Allow oven to preheat to the selected temperature before placing food in the oven. Use proper rack position for baking needs. Be sure to remove all pans from the oven except the ones to be used for baking. Open oven door only after shortest recommended baking time. Air Circulation in the Oven _f using multiple pans, stagger as shown. If using one pan, place in center of oven. For best air circulation and baking results, center pans as much as possible. Allow 2-4" (510 cm) around the utensil(s) for proper air circulation and be sure pans do not touch each other, the door, sides or back of oven.
