1.3 Cleaning the Scanning Area 1 1.3 Cleaning the Scanning Area If the scanning area of the ADF is dirty, follow the steps below to clean it. NOTICE When cleaning, exercise care not to damage the glass. 1 Open the ADF, and wipe the original glass clean using a clean soft cloth. % Wipe the original glass clean with a clean soft cloth dampened slightly with water, when it is difficult to clean. NOTICE Never use paint solvents such as benzine or thinners, or spray containing any volatile elements, to clean the original glass. 2 Wipe the slit scan glass clean using a clean soft cloth. 3 Open the lever [DF1], and also open the conveyance guide.
