To install or replace a memory module, do the following: 1. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 68. 2. Locate the memory slots on the system board. See "Locating parts on the system board" on page 67. 3. If you are replacing a memory module, open the retaining clips of the appropriate memory slot and remove the old memory module that is currently installed. If you are installing a memory module, go to step 4. Figure 8. Removing the memory module 4. Insert the new memory module into the appropriate memory slot. Make sure that the notch 2 of the new memory module are aligned with the slot key 1 of the memory slot. Then, press the new memory module firmly and pivot it down until it snaps into position. Make sure that the new memory module is firmly installed in the memory slot and does not move easily. Figure 9.
