Using printer menus Menu item Baud Data Bits Parity Honor DSR Purpose Values Specifies the rate at which data can be received through the serial port. Note: 138200, 172800, 230400, and 345600 baud rates are displayed in the Standard Serial menu. Even Odd *None Ignore Determines whether the printer *Off uses the Data Set Ready (DSR) signal. DSR is one of the handshaking signals for most serial On interface cables. The serial interface uses DSR to distinguish data sent by the computer from data created by electrical noise in the serial cable. This electrical noise can cause stray characters to print. Select On to prevent stray characters from printing. All data received by the serial port is treated as valid data. Only data received while the DSR signal is high is treated as valid.
