EtherFast Network Attached Storage (250GB with PrintServer) Chapter 2: Getting to Know the Network Attached Storage The Back Panel The Network Attached Storage's ports and Reset button are located on the back panel. LAN Port PRINTER Port Reset Button POWER Port Figure 2-1: Back Panel This LAN (Local Area Network) port connects to an Ethernet network device, such as a switch or router. (You can also connect the Network Attached Storage directly to a computer.) The PRINTER port connects to a printer using a parallel cable. This button is used to reset the Network Attached Storage's IP address and password to their factory defaults. Press and hold this button for three seconds. The IP address will be reset to the default value of 192.168.1.77, with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, and the password will be reset to its default, admin. After the reset has occurred, the Network Attached Storage will beep once. Connect the power adapter here. IMPORTANT: Never remove the power adapter while the Network Attached Storage is powered on. Make sure you press the power button on the front panel to power off the Network Attached Storage before removing the power adapter.
