Security Features: Unused Protocols Disabling Unused Protocols Disabling unused protocols prevents access to the print server through those protocols. The easiest way to disable unused protocols is to use the Web Browser. 1. Open the web browser. 2. Enter the print server's IP Address: Internet Explorer Enter the print server's IP Address in the [Address] field. Netscape Navigator Enter the print server's IP Address in the [Location/Position] field. 3. Press the ENTER key. The Printer Status window appears. Disabling unused protocols prevents access to the print server through
those protocols.
The easiest way to disable unused protocols is to use the Web Browser.
1. Open the web browser.
2. Enter the print server’s IP Address:
Internet Explorer
Enter the print server’s IP Address in the [Address] field.
Netscape Navigator
Enter the print server’s IP Address in the [Location/Position] field.
3. Press the ENTER key.
The Printer Status window appears.
4. Click the [Security] tab.
