3 Press the INDEX button on the remote control unit one time. The INDEX command is sent and the unit is put in the index scan mode. 4 To search for an image located before the current position, press the REW button. To search for an image located after the current position, press the F FWD button. When the unit detects an index signal, the unit plays back the image recorded at that point for about 10 seconds, and then searches for the next index signal. The unit searches for the index signals repeatedly up to the beginning or end of the disc. To cancel the index scan mode The index scan mode is automatically cancelled when the unit searches as far as the beginning or end of the disc. To cancel the index scan mode before reaching the beginning or end of the disc, press any one among STOP button, PLAY button,B and b buttons of the unit and the SVRM-100. The unit enters in the index search mode. 4 Specify the desired index number by pressing the INDEX button on the control unit the number of times that corresponds to the number of the desired index. 5 To search for an image located before the current position, press the REW button. To search for an image located after the current position, press the F FWD button. Erasing an Index You can ease indexes marked by pressing the MARK button of the SVRM-100A remote control unit. Proceed as follows to erase an index. Note You cannot erase indexes created at the beginning of recording, ones created by pressing the XPAUSE button of the unit during recording, or ones marked automatically by setting the AUTO INDEX sub menu to ON (see page 52). 1 Set the unit in the index scan mode. 2 Search for the index to be erased. 3 Press the ERASE button. The index searched in step 2 is erased. In this case, the segment of that chapter is added to the previous chapter and they become one chapter. Press the INDEX button on the remote control unit
twice.
The unit enters in the index search mode.

Specify the desired index number by pressing the
INDEX button on the control unit the number of
times that corresponds to the number of the desired
index.

To search for an image located before the current
position, press the REW button.
To search for an image located after the current
position, press the F FWD button.
Erasing an Index
You can ease indexes marked by pressing the MARK
button of the SVRM-100A remote control unit.
Proceed as follows to erase an index.
Note
You cannot erase indexes created at the beginning of
recording, ones created by pressing the
X
PAUSE button
of the unit during recording, or ones marked
automatically by setting the AUTO INDEX sub menu to
ON
(see page 52)
