x Auto Volume This receiver can adjust the volume automatically depending on the input signal or content from the connected equipment. This function is useful, for example, when the sound of a commercial is louder than the TV programs. • On • Off Notes • Be sure to reduce the volume level before you turn on/off this function. • As this function is available only when Dolby Digital, DTS or Linear PCM signals are input, the sound may suddenly increase when you switch to other formats. • This function does not work in the following cases. - Linear PCM signals with a sampling frequency of more than 48 kHz are being received. - Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS 96/24, DTS-HD Master Audio, or DTS-HD High Resolution Audio signals are being received. x Dual Mono (Digital broadcast language selection) Lets you select the language you want when you listen to the dual audio of a digital broadcast when available. This feature only functions for Dolby Digital sources. • Main/Sub: Sound of the main language will be output through the front left speaker and sound of the sub language will be output through the front right speaker simultaneously. • Main: Sound of the main language will be output. • Sub: Sound of the sub language will be output. x D.Range Comp. (Dynamic Range Compression) Lets you compress the dynamic range of the soundtrack. This may be useful when you want to watch movies at low volumes late at night. Dynamic range compression is possible with Dolby Digital sources only. • On: The dynamic range is compressed as intended by the recording engineer. • Auto: The dynamic range is compressed automatically. • Off: The dynamic range is not compressed. HDMI Settings menu You can adjust the required settings for equipment connected to the HDMI jack. x Control for HDMI Lets you turn the Control for HDMI function on or off. For details, see "Preparing for the "BRAVIA" Sync" (page 47). • On • Off Notes • When you set "Control for HDMI" to "On", "HDMI Audio Out" may be changed automatically. • When the receiver is in standby mode, the ?/1 indicator on the front panel lights up in amber if "Control for HDMI" is set to "On". Auto Volume
