Chapter 5: Setting up your TV Configuring the antenna input source for the ANT/CABLE terminal 1 From the SETUP menu, highlight ANT/CABLE In. 2 Press C or c to select the input source (Antenna or Cable) for the ANT/CABLE input on the TV and press O. Programming channels into the TV's channel memory When you press < or , on the remote control or TV control panel, your TV will stop only on the channels you programmed into the TV's channel memory. Follow the steps below to program channels into the TV's channel memory. Auto Tuning Your TV can automatically detect all active channels in your area and store them in its memory. After the channels are programmed automatically, you can manually add or erase individual channels in the channel memory. Note: • You must configure the ANT/CABLE input source before programming channels. • If the ANT/CABLE input is configured for Cable, the automatic channel programming process erases channels that were previously programmed into the TV's memory. • If the ANT/CABLE input is configured for Antenna, the automatic channel programming process adds newly found channels to the existing set of programmed channels (and does NOT erase channels that were previously programmed into the TV's memory.) To remove an Antenna source channel from the memory, you must set it to Skip. • To tune the TV to a channel not programmed in the channel memory, you must use the Channel Number buttons on the remote control. • Programming channels when the ANT/CABLE input is configured for Cable will take substantially longer than when the antenna input is configured for Antenna. This is normal; however, once channel programming is finished, you should not have to repeat the programming process again unless your Cable TV service lineup changes significantly. 1 Configure the ANT/CABLE input, if you have not already done so (- left-hand column). 2 From the SETUP menu, highlight Auto Tuning. 3 A screen will appear warning that previous programs and settings will be deleted. 4 Press T to start Auto Tuning. The TV will automatically cycle through all the channels, and store all active channels in the channel memory. When Auto Tuning is finished, press < or , to view the programmed channels. Manual Tuning After automatically programming channels into the channel memory, you can manually enter channels if the physical channel is known. 1 From the SETUP menu, highlight Manual Tuning and press T. 2 Use the Channel Numbers on the remote control to enter the channel number (up to three-digit number) and press T. If channels are found, they will be listed at the bottom of the screen. Analog channels will be noted by an "ATV" symbol and digital channels by a "DTV" symbol. 37

When you press

on the remote control or TV
control panel, your TV will stop only on the channels
you programmed into the TV’s channel memory.
Follow the steps below to program channels into the
TV’s channel memory.
Auto Tuning
Your TV can automatically detect all active channels in
your area and store them in its memory. After the
channels are programmed automatically, you can
manually add or erase individual channels in the
channel memory.
Note:
You must configure the ANT/CABLE input source before
programming channels.
If the ANT/CABLE input is configured for
Cable
, the
automatic channel programming process erases
channels that were previously programmed into the TV’s
memory.
If the ANT/CABLE input is configured for
Antenna
, the
automatic channel programming process adds newly
found channels to the existing set of programmed
channels (and does NOT erase channels that were
