6 Users should ensure for their own protection that the electrical ground connections of the power utility, telephone lines and internal metallic water pipe system, if present, are connected together. This precaution may be particularly important in rural areas. Caution: Users should not attempt to make such connections themselves, but should contact the appropriate electric inspection authority, or electrician, as appropriate. 2 The user manual of analog equipment must contain the equipment's Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) and an explanation notice similar to the following: The Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) of this device can be found on the label affixed to your computer. NOTICE: The Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) assigned to each terminal device provides an indication of the maximum number of terminals allowed to be connected to a telephone interface. The termination on an interface may consist of any combination of devices subject only to the requirement that the sum of the Ringer Equivalence Numbers of all the devices does not exceed 5. 3 The standard connecting arrangement (telephone jack type) for this equipment is jack type(s): USOC RJ11C. Wireless Interoperability The TOSHIBA Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card products are designed to be interoperable with any wireless LAN product that is based on Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) radio technology, and is compliant to: ❖ The IEEE 802.11 Standard on Wireless LANs (Revision A/B), as defined and approved by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. ❖ The Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) certification as defined by the WECA Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance. Caution Bluetooth™ and Wireless LAN devices operate within the same radio frequency range and may interfere with one another. If you use Bluetooth™ and Wireless LAN devices simultaneously, you may occasionally experience a less than optimal network performance or even lose your network connection. If you should experience any such problem, immediately turn off either one of your Bluetooth™ or Wireless LAN.
