English ADVANCED FEATURES Setting the SLEEP timer Use the built-in SLEEP timer to automatically turn this unit into the standby mode after the time you set elapses. The SLEEP timer is useful when you plan to fall asleep while this unit is playing back or recording a source. The SLEEP timer also automatically turns off external units connected to the SWITCHED AC OUTLET(S) on the rear of this unit. The SLEEP timer can only be set using the remote controller. To set the SLEEP time 1 Select the source using the INPUT SELECTOR and start playback (or select a broadcast station) on the source unit. 2 Press the SLEEP key repeatedly until the desired SLEEP time appears on the display. * "SLEEP time" is the time that elapses before this unit is automatically turned into the standby mode. A B SLEEP C REMOTE CONTROL TRANSMITTER To cancel the SLEEP timer Press the SLEEP key repeatedly until "SLEEP OFF" appears on the display. (After a while, the display returns to the original indication.) A B SLEEP C REMOTE CONTROL TRANSMITTER Note The SLEEP timer setting can also be canceled by setting this unit into the standby mode with the STANDBY/ON switch on the front panel (or the STANDBY key on the remote controller) or disconnecting the power plug of this unit from the AC outlet. SPEAKERS A Indicates the SLEEP time. DVD/LD TV/DBS VCR 1 VCR 2 V-AUX TAPE/MD CD TUNER PHONO SLEEP Flashes. Each time you press the SLEEP key, the SLEEP time changes as follows. “SLEEP time” is the time that elapses before this unit
is automatically turned into the standby mode.
Each time you press the
SLEEP
key, the SLEEP time
changes as follows.
After a while, the display returns to the original indication.
To cancel the SLEEP timer
Press the
SLEEP
key repeatedly until “SLEEP OFF” appears
on the display. (After a while, the display returns to the original
indication.)
Note
The SLEEP timer setting can also be canceled by setting this
unit into the standby mode with the
STANDBY/ON
switch on
the front panel (or the
STANDBY
key on the remote controller)
or disconnecting the power plug of this unit from the AC outlet.
