Chapter 29 User Account The following table describes the labels in this screen. Table 115 Users Configuration: Add/Edit LABEL User Name DESCRIPTION This field is read-only if you are editing the user account. Password Enter a descriptive name for the user account. The user name can be up to 15 alphanumeric characters (0-9, A-Z, a-z, -, _ with no spaces). With advanced account security enabled, the user names must be a minimum length of six characters and include both letters and numbers. Specify the password associated to this account. The password can be 6 to 15 alphanumeric characters (0-9, A-Z, a-z, -, _ with no spaces), not containing the user name. It must contain both letters and numbers. Verify Password New Password The characters are displayed as asterisks (*) in this field. Enter the exact same password that you just entered in the above field. This field is displayed only when you are editing the user account. Verify Password Type your new system password (6 to 15 alphanumeric characters (0-9, A-Z, a-z, -, _ with no spaces), not containing the user name). This field is displayed only when you are editing the user account. Retry Times Enter the exact same password that you just entered in the above field. The Device can lock a user out if you use a wrong user name or password to log in the Device. Idle Timeout Lock Period Group Enter up to how many times a user can re-enter his/her account information before the Device locks the user out. Enter the number of minutes that the system can idle before being logged out. Enter the number of minutes for the lockout period. A user cannot log into the Device during the lockout period, even if he/she enters correct account information. This field is read-only if you are editing the user account. Select a type of login account. The web configurator screens and privileges vary depending on which account type you use to log in. Administrator accounts can configure the Device while User accounts can only view some status information. File Sharing Service (SAMBA) File Share Name File Share Directory File Sharing Writable Apply Cancel Users logged in with either type of account can access the Internet. Select Enable to allow the file sharing feature with this user account. This allows the user to access shared files in USB storage. Samba allows file and print sharing between computers running Windows and computers running Unix. Enter a name for the shared resource (profile). For example, the user can connect to 192.168.1.1/. Enter the shared root directory. Select if you want the files in the shared directory to be writable or not. Click Apply to save your changes. Click Cancel to exit this screen without saving. LABEL

User Name

This field is read-only if you are editing the user account.

Enter a descriptive name for the user account. The user name can be up to 15

alphanumeric characters (0-9, A-Z, a-z, -, _ with no spaces). With advanced account

Password

Specify the password associated to this account. The password can be 6 to 15

Enter the exact same password that you just entered in the above field.

New Password

This field is displayed only when you are editing the user account.

Type your new system password (6 to 15 alphanumeric characters (0-9, A-Z, a-z, -, _

Enter the exact same password that you just entered in the above field.

Retry Times

The Device can lock a user out if you use a wrong user name or password to log in the

Device.

Lock Period

Enter the number of minutes for the lockout period. A user cannot log into the Device

Select a type of login account. The web configurator screens and privileges vary

depending on which account type you use to log in.
