MAINTENANCE AND ADJUSTMENT 105 Throttle Cable There must be free play in the throttle mechanism. Measure the distance the throttle lever moves before the engine begins to pick up speed. Free play should be 2 ∼ 3 mm (0.08 ∼ 0.12 in.). j A. Adjuster B. Locknut If the free play cannot be set by adjusting the upper cable adjuster, use the adjuster at the lower end of the throttle cable. Throttle Cable
There must be free play in the throttle mechanism.
Measure the distance the throttle lever moves before
the engine begins to pick up speed. Free play should

Adjustment
•
Slide the rubber cover off of the adjuster at the
throttle case.
•
Loosen the locknut and turn the throttle cable up-
per adjuster to obtain the specified free play.
•
Tighten the locknut and reinstall the rubber cover.
