Brake Light Switch
Only the switch at the rear brake pedal can be
adjusted.
When the brake pedal is depressed, the brake light
goes on. The brake light switch should be inspected
in accordance with the Periodic Maintenance Chart.
The brake light switch of the front brake lever can-
not be adjusted.
Inspection
Turn the ignition switch to the “ON” position.
Depress the brake pedal. The brake light should
go on after about 10 mm (0.4 in.) of pedal travel.

If the light does not turn on as above, check the
bulb and if necessary, adjust the brake light switch.
Adjustment
To adjust the brake light switch (located near the
brake pedal), move the switch forward or rearward
by turning the adjusting nut.
NOTICE
To avoid damaging the electrical connec-
tions inside the switch, be sure that the
switch body does not turn during adjust-
ment.
