Dismount on uphill side or to a side if pointed straight uphill. Turn the ATV around and remount, following the procedure described in the Safe Operation chapter.

Braking
Close the throttle completely.
Leave the clutch
engaged (except when shifting gears) so that the
engine will help slow down the vehicle.
Shift down one gear at a time so you are in 1st
gear when you come to complete stop.
Under most conditions stop by pulling in the front
brake lever and pressing down the rear brake
pedal. Shift down or fully disengage the clutch as
necessary to keep the engine from stalling.
