Practical hints Fuses X Closing: Hook cover 1 into the opening at the front. X Press cover 1 back on until it engages. X X ! The fuse box cover must be properly positioned as described to prevent moisture or dirt from entering the fuse box and possibly impairing fuse operation. Fuse box in trunk CLK coupe The fuse box is located in the trunk behind the left-hand trim panel. Open the trunk. Opening: Pull away trim panel 1. X Remove fuse box cover 2. X Closing: Place fuse box cover 2 back on. X Press trim panel 1 back into place. Fuse box in engine compartment The fuse box is located in the engine compartment on the driver's side. X Open the hood. CLK cabriolet The fuse box is located in the trunk behind the left-hand trim panel. 1 Cover 2 Screw 3 Retainer 1 Trim panel X X X 1 Trim panel 2 Fuse box cover Open the trunk. Opening: To open, pull trim panel 1 in the direction of the rear light and outward. X Closing: Press trim panel 1 back into place. Removing cover: Twist screws 2 90° counterclockwise. X Lift the rear of cover 1. X Slide out retainer 3 and remove cover 1 by pulling towards front. 356
