Practical hints Vehicle status messages in the multifunction display Display messages Possible cause/consequence Key Detected In Vehicle Don't Forget Your Key A SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO left in the vehicle was recognized while trying to lock the vehicle from the outside. This display appears for a maximum of 60 seconds if the driver's door is opened with the engine turned off and no SmartKey in the starter switch. This message is only a reminder. You have forgotten to remove the SmartKey. Possible solution X I I Take the SmartKey out of the vehicle. X Take the SmartKey with you when leaving the vehicle. I I I I Remove Key X Remove the SmartKey from the starter switch. Contact an authorized Mercedes-Benz Center. Find the SmartKey that belongs to the vehicle to operate the vehicle. Replace the batteries (Y page 355). You need a new key. The SmartKey is malfunctioning. Key Does Not Belong The SmartKey in the starter switch does not belong to the vehicle. to Vehicle Change Key Batteries The batteries in the SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO are discharged. X X X 324
