Practical hints AdBlue® (diesel engine only) X Turn filler cap 3 counterclockwise and open it. Filler cap 3 is tethered with a plastic strap. X Push AdBlue® refill container 4 down. The AdBlue® tank is filled. This may take up to 1 minute. X X Place cover 1 as illustrated and turn it clockwise to its stop. Start the engine. i When you stop pushing the AdBlue® refill container down, the filling process is stopped and you can remove the refill container. X X X i If the message Check Additive See Operator's Manual still appears in the multifunction display, refill with one more container of AdBlue®. X X X Release AdBlue® refill container 4. Turn refill container 4 counterclockwise and remove it. Place filler cap 3 (Y page 376) on filler neck and turn it clockwise. AdBlue® Place first aid kit 2 back under cargo compartment floor. Lower cargo compartment floor. Close the tailgate. 4 AdBlue® refill container X X Pull dust cap off of AdBlue® refill container 4. Place AdBlue® refill container 4 on the filler neck as illustrated and tighten it moderately (hand-tight) by turning it clockwise. i Have the AdBlue® level checked and, if necessary, filled completely afterward at an authorized Mercedes-Benz Center. ! Make sure to tighten the AdBlue® refill container only moderately, i.e. hand-tight, as you could otherwise damage it. 1 AdBlue® filler cap cover Z 377
