1.4.2 Core specifications 1 ATX power connector. This 24/20-pin connector is for an ATX power supply. 2 604-pin CPU sockets. A 604-pin surface mount, Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) socket for the Intel® Xeon™ processor with 512KB L2 cache and a 533/400MHz system bus that allows up to 4.2GBps or 3.2GBps data transfer rates. These sockets support Intel Xeon CPUs with Hyper-Threading Technology feature. 3 Intel E7505 MCH (Placer) . The E7505 Memory Controller Hub (MCH) is the host bridge of the Placer chipset which is designed for the next generation workstation or high-end desktop platforms. The MCH supports the Intel® Xeon™ processor in dual-processor or uniprocessor mode at peak bandwidths of 4.2GBps (533MHz) or 3.2GBps (400MHz). The MCH works with the I/O Controller Hub (ICH4) for the I/O subsystem, provides AGP 8x/4x interface (compliant to AGP 3.0 specification), and supports dual-channel DDR SDRAM interface for up to 8GB system memory. 4 8-pin 12V SSI power connector. This 8-pin connector is for an ATX power supply. 5 DDR DIMM sockets. These four 184-pin DIMM sockets support up to 8GB system memory using unbuffered/registered ECC/non-ECC PC2100/1600 DDR DIMMs. 6 AGP Pro 8X slot. This Accelerated Graphics (AGP) Pro slot supports 1.5V AGP 8X mode graphic cards to deliver up to 2.1GB/s bandwidth. 7 Intel® P64H2 PCI-X hub. The P64H2 is PCI/PCI-X 64-bit Hub 2 that provides high-performance I/O capability including 16-bit Hub Interface 2.0 connection to MCH, and two independent 64-bit PCI/ PCI-X interfaces. 8 IDE connectors. These dual-channel bus master IDE connectors support up to four Ultra DMA/100/66, PIO Modes 3 & 4 IDE devices. Both the primary (blue) and secondary (black) connectors are slotted to prevent incorrect insertion of the IDE ribbon cable. 9 Floppy disk connector. This connector accommodates the provided ribbon cable for the floppy disk drive. This 24/20-pin connector is for an ATX
power supply.
604-pin CPU sockets.
A 604-pin surface mount, Zero Insertion
Force (ZIF) socket for the Intel
