4.4.2 Installing Serial ATA hard disks The motherboard supports Serial ATA hard disk drives. For optimal performance, install identical drives of the same model and capacity when creating a disk array. To install the SATA hard disks for a RAID configuration: 1. Install the SATA hard disks into the drive bays. 2. Connect the SATA signal cables. 3. Connect a SATA power cable to the power connector on each drive. 4.4.3 AMD® RAID configurations This motherboard supports RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, and RAID 10 configurations for Serial ATA hard disks drives through the AMD SB750 chip. Setting the RAID item in BIOS You must set the RAID item in the BIOS Setup before you can create a RAID set. To do this: 1. Install the internal Serial ATA hard disk drives to the SATA connectors labeled SATA_1/2/3/4/5. 2. Boot up your computer, and press during POST to enter the BIOS setup. 3. In the Main Menu, go to Storage Configuration, and set the OnChip SATA Type item to [RAID]. 3. Press to save the changes and exit. RAID configurations
This motherboard supports RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, and RAID 10 configurations for Serial
ATA hard disks drives through the AMD SB750 chip.
Setting the RAID item in BIOS
You must set the RAID item in the BIOS Setup before you can create a RAID set. To do this:
1.
Install the internal Serial ATA hard disk drives to the SATA connectors labeled
SATA_1/2/3/4/5.
2.
Boot up your computer, and press <Del> during POST to enter the BIOS setup.
3.
In the Main Menu, go to
Storage Configuration
, and set the
OnChip SATA Type
item
to [RAID].

Press <F10> to save the changes and exit.
