4 APPENDIX MAINTENANCE Simple sewing machine maintenance operations are described below. Oiling Turn off the machine and unplug it. a Put 2 to 3 drops of oil at each of the points b indicated below. Be sure to wipe any excess oil off the machine. Changing the bulb CAUTION ● Turn off the main power switch and unplug the machine before you change the light bulb. If the main power switch is on when you change the light bulb, you may get an electric shock. If the machine is on and you step on the foot controller, you may be injured. 4 ● To avoid burns, let the light bulb cool down before you change it. Turn off the machine and unplug it. a Loosen the face plate screw. b After oiling, run the machine for a short time c at a fast speed without thread. Remove the face plate from the machine. c Memo ● Make sure to oil the machine once a week if you use it more than an hour a day. MAINTENANCE

Oiling
