APPENDIX When the thread is entangled Turn the handwheel to raise the needle, then d remove the fabric. CAUTION ● Do not pull or push fabric while stitching. It may bend the needle causing it to break. Perform steps of "Cleaning the shuttle race" e on page 39. ● Do not turn the handwheel and pull the fabric by force when the thread is entangled or the motor is locked. If the thread is entangled, remove the thread and fabric according to the procedure below. Turn off the machine and unplug it. a CAUTION ● Unplug the power supply cord, otherwise injuries or an electric shock may occur. Remove the flat bed attachment and open the b shuttle cover at the front of the free arm. And then look for entangled thread. Note ● If machine runs but needle does not move, look to be sure bobbin winding shaft is moved to the left into the sewing position. Cut the entangled thread with small scissors c above the needle plate and then gently remove the thread and fabric. 45

When the thread is entangled
a
Turn off the machine and unplug it.

Remove the flat bed attachment and open the
shuttle cover at the front of the free arm. And
then look for entangled thread.

Cut the entangled thread with small scissors
above the needle plate and then gently
remove the thread and fabric.

Turn the handwheel to raise the needle, then
remove the fabric.

Perform steps of “Cleaning the shuttle race”
on page 39.
Note
If machine runs but needle does not move,
look to be sure bobbin winding shaft is
moved to the left into the sewing position.
