Cleaning the BJ Cartridge Print Head If your printouts become faint or streaked, or if their quality otherwise deteriorates, print the nozzle check pattern to see if the print head nozzles are operating properly (1 p. 12-10). If the pattern is broken, missing, or a specific color is not printed, clean the BJ cartridge print head. Refer to the flow chart (1 p. 12-9) for the correct order of testing and cleaning the BJ cartridge print head. n • To maintain the best possible print quality, clean the BJ cartridge print head from time to time. • Cleaning the print head consumes a small amount of ink. Cleaning too often reduces the amount of ink in the BJ cartridge. • If your printing is faint, you can often correct the problem by adjusting the print settings. (1 MultiPASS Suite User's Guide) Follow this procedure to clean the BJ cartridge print head: Function 1 Press . 10 2 Press . Cleaning 08 02 3 Use or CLEANING. to select HEAD NOZZLE CHECK Ex: HEAD CLEANING Set 4 Press . • The MultiPASS cleans the print head. n • You can clean the print head up to five consecutive times if necessary. • After cleaning, print the nozzle check pattern to check if cleaning corrected the problem.
