Appendices 93 Image is blurred, out of focus, or not as expected Cause Solution Camera moved • Be careful not to move the camera when pressing the shutter button. Autofocus function is hampered by something obstructing the AF auxiliary light emitter • Be careful not to block the AF auxiliary light emitter with your fingers or other items. Subject is out of focal range • Ensure that there is at least 57 cm (1.9 ft.) between the camera lens and subject. • Use the macro mode to shoot closeups between 10 and 57 cm (3.9 in. and 1.9 ft.) from the lens when set to wide angle and between 27 and 57 cm (10.6 in. and 1.9 ft.) when set to telephoto. • Use the infinity mode to shoot distant subjects. Subject is too dark in image Cause Solution Insufficient light for shooting • Set the flash to On. Subject is much darker • Set the exposure compensation to a than its surroundings positive (+) setting. Subject is too far away • When using the flash, ensure that for flash to reach the camera is no farther from the subject than 3 m (9.8 ft.) at the maximum wide angle, or 2 m (6.6 ft.) at the muximum telephoto setting.
