15 C H A P T E R Configuring the 4GE SSM for Fiber The 4GE SSM (Security Services Module) has four Ethernet ports, and each port has two media type options: SFP (Small Form-Factor Pluggable) fiber or RJ 45. You can mix the copper and fiber ports using the same 4GE SSM card. Note The 4GE SSM requires the Cisco ASA 5500 series software Version 7.1(1) or later.
