Device Configuration Menu Chapter 4 Configuring Settings on the Cisco Unified IP Phone Table 4-13 Ethernet Configuration Menu Option Option Description To Change Span to PC Port Indicates whether the phone will (applies to 7911G forward packets transmitted and only) received on the network port to the access port. From Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration, choose Device > Phone > Phone Configuration. Enable this option if an application that requires monitoring of the phone's traffic is being run on the access port. These applications include monitoring and recording applications (common in call center environments) and network packet capture tools that are used for diagnostic purposes. Forwarding Delay (applies to 7911G only) Indicates whether the internal switch begins forwarding packets between the PC port and switched port on the phone when the phone becomes active. • When forwarding delay is set to disabled, the internal switch begins forwarding packets immediately. From Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration, choose Device > Phone > Phone Configuration. • When forwarding delay is set to enabled, the internal switch waits 8 seconds before forwarding packets between the PC port and the switch port. Default is disabled.
